Call for Mentors: Cascadia CleanTech Accelerator

Lend your knowledge and help cleantech entrepreneurs speed their path to market. Together, we can build a stronger cleantech economy.

Are you an experienced entrepreneur, business leader or subject matter expert? Do you want to help emerging cleantech entrepreneurs and startups? Become a Cascadia CleanTech Accelerator mentor!

The Cascadia CleanTech Accelerator is seeking mentors to support the program’s 2017 cohort. The accelerator helps entrepreneurs through a proven 14-week program that delivers mentorship, curriculum, industry connections and funding opportunities designed specifically for early-stage cleantech startups.

Each participating Cascadia CleanTech startup receives a team of assigned generalist and specialist mentors to help with business planning, go-to-market strategy, financing and more.

Generalist Mentors: Generalist mentors are experienced professionals with proven records of success in either relevant cleantech industries or innovation-driven startups. Generalist mentors become a champion for their mentees, coaching and leading them to build excellent business plans and investor pitches.

Specialist Mentors: Tapping world-class expertise across key disciplines is vital for entrepreneurial success. Specialist mentors are an elite group of subject matter experts acting as ongoing resources across a broad range of categories, including:

  • Business plan/model development
  • Sales/business development
  • Marketing and public relations
  • Financial planning and accounting
  • Manufacturing

Mentors are assigned as teams, which creates a perfect opportunity for new mentors to get engaged. On average, mentors spend two-to-four hours per month with their mentees over the course of the program (June through September). Longer relationships, however, are encouraged and often forged.
