Alaska Microgrid Technology Competition Now Open

The second round of the Alaska Center for Microgrid Technologies Commercialization (ACMTC) competition is now open. The competition is a collaborative effort involving the Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP), the Business Enterprise Institute, the Alaska Small Business Development Center, and the Center for Economic Development.  Its purpose is to provide technical and business support to successful applicants to accelerate market entry for their products.

Over the summer, ACMTC will be accepting applications from eligible product developers. There will be a total of four-to-five awards made in this second round. The Grand Prize will be 40 days (for one single project or split between two projects) of R&D time in ACEP's Power Systems Integration Laboratory, including collaboration with the Power Systems Integration Team. Three Technology Seed Awards will be made for product developers to receive up to 125 man-hours of R&D support, which can include design reviews, specification development, grid interface design and development, modeling, etc. All applicants are invited to make use of the services provided by the Alaska Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

Pre-registration for the competition closes on August 2nd, 2017.
