Alaska Startup Week Opens 2017/18 Year of Innovation

Alaska Startup Week, July 22-30, marks the beginning of the 2017/18 Year of Innovation calendar of events.  This is the week where new tools for innovators and entrepreneurs become available, tools that can help new business ideas get in front of real investors. 

The Alaska Journal of Commerce published that in the 2016 Year of Innovation 309 new business ideas were pitched, 31 business ideas from 2 Alaska accelerators were developed, and 14 startup business launched in Alaska with over $550,000 in capital investment.

Launch Alaska, one of the 2 accelerators in the state, focuses on energy and Arctic tech sectors. The application period for the 2018 Cohort end on September 17th, 2017.
