Rashma Agarwal is currently Vice President of Public Affairs at the Economic Alliance of Snohomish County. She has over 20 years of experience in public policy, international relations, and economic development.
In her current role, Rashma oversees the advocacy program and marketing/communications efforts at EASC. She directly leads on the advocacy strategy, planning and engagement with public officials to ensure businesses can thrive locally. She also led on creating a marketing and communications program for EASC.
Previously, Rashma spent most of her career in the Canadian Foreign Service. She has held leadership positions in international business development, economic advocacy, and international trade negotiations. She most recently served as an Executive Policy Advisor on Canada-U.S. relations. Previously she served as Canada’s Deputy Consul General in Los Angeles and prior to that was Canada’s Deputy Chief Negotiator for free trade initiatives with Asia and lead government procurement/transparency negotiator across all forums.
Rashma also worked with small businesses, having run her own consulting company, and mentored cleantech start-ups on funding and growth in California. In addition, she previously taught in the International Commerce Program at UCLA Extension. In her spare time, Rashma enjoys volunteering in her community, gardening and exploring all the PNW has to offer with her family.
