CleanTech Alliance opened online nominations for the 2016 CleanTech Achievement Award. The annual award spotlights a business or organization for making significant contributions to the cleantech industry sector in Washington State, the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Nominations are due before September 30.

The CleanTech Achievement Award is presented each year at the CleanTech Alliance Annual Meeting in front of an audience of more than 300 cleantech industry executives, investors and policymakers from across the region. Three finalists will be honored at the event, receiving a short promotional video outlining the merits of their nomination. An independent panel of judges consisting of CleanTech Alliance members will screen each application to select the three finalists and overall winner.

“The cleantech industry is experiencing rapid advancement from amazing research, technology innovations and market strategies that prove that impact and successful business models are not mutually exclusive,” said J. Thomas Ranken, President and CEO of the CleanTech Alliance. “The CleanTech Achievement Award honors these organizations while providing the recognition they rightfully deserve.”

Washington State University won top honors in 2015 with Avista Utilities and the Cleantech Open named as finalists. Element 8 won the inaugural award in 2014 with UniEnergy Technologies and Washington State University named as finalists.

The CleanTech Alliance Fifth Annual Meeting offers an ideal opportunity to network and share ideas with the industry’s most prominent movers and shakers. In addition to the CleanTech Achievement Award, the Fifth Annual Meeting will feature an executive panel of current and past CleanTech Alliance Board Chairs. Since 2007, the Alliance has developed the Pacific Northwest’s cleantech economy by successfully facilitating the generation and growth of nearly 300 cleantech companies and more than 87,500 direct cleantech jobs.
