Improved Itron Riva Dev Kit provides compact integration and development option for Itron Riva Developers Community to create new field applications
Itron, Inc. The improved Itron Riva Dev Kit provides the fastest path for third party developers to connect Internet of Things (IoT) devices to Itron's OpenWay Riva™ network in the field.
Featuring a more compact design and core inputs and outputs (I/Os) to connect with the most commonly used sensors in the industry, the Itron Riva Dev Kit will allow third party developers to more quickly, easily and cost-effectively pilot new technologies. It is designed to fit more compact applications, such as smart streetlights, electric vehicle charging stations and distribution automation gateways. The kit uses the same powerful prototyping platform as Itron’s existing development kits and seamlessly integrates with Itron’s OpenWay Riva network using the same communications protocol.
“With this new kit, we are making it much easier and cost-effective for third party developers to take their ideas and pilot them in the field where smaller devices with limited interior real estate are common. The Itron Riva Dev Kit includes a compact and cost-effective board, yet rich in I/O options, including GPIO, I2C, SPI, Serial, A/D and OTG USB,” said Roberto Aiello, managing director of the Itron Idea Labs. “Itron is continuing to expand the ways in which developers can take advantage of our Itron Riva distributed intelligence platform, further enabling an ecosystem of IoT applications.”
