Canada’s Ambassador for Climate Change Headlines Annual Meeting

Join CleanTech Alliance November 8 as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary and look forward to “The Next 10” in clean technology.

CleanTech Alliance announced that Jennifer MacIntyre, Canada’s Ambassador for Climate Change, will headline the Annual Meeting and 10th Anniversary Celebration on November 8 in Seattle.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appointed MacIntyre as the country’s Ambassador for Climate Change in June 2017. MacIntyre focuses her role on supporting clean technology businesses and the potential for international trade and investment inspired by Canada’s climate change policies. She is also tasked with implementing Canada’s commitment to the Paris Agreement.

“Jennifer MacIntyre’s keynote highlights the strengthening regional ties the CleanTech Alliance has developed over the past 10 years,” said J. Thomas Ranken, President and CEO of the CleanTech Alliance. “Energy resources expand across state borders, therefore efforts to harness more efficient technologies and processes need to as well.”

Held November 8 at the Seattle Sheraton, the 2017 Annual Meeting is a half-day affair that also celebrates the CleanTech Alliance’s 10th Anniversary. The event convenes more than 300 of the industry’s most prominent influencers from across the Northwest region to network, learn and partner.

“Since our inception in 2007, the CleanTech Alliance has emerged as a leading voice in clean technology sector growth across the Northwest region,” Ranken said. “Our 300 members now span six U.S. states and two Canadian provinces. These organizations are working together to develop new technology, innovations and jobs that are driving the regional cleantech economy toward a greener future.”

The CleanTech Alliance Annual Meeting also serves to recognize member accomplishments. The CleanTech Achievement Award program, sponsored by Puget Sound Energy, now includes individual and organization categories. The Alliance is also introducing a new CleanTech Vision Award to recognize innovations that will have a lasting impact on the industry. Winners of all four awards will be announced at the meeting.

The Boeing Company once again is supporting the celebration as a principal sponsor, and supporting sponsors include APCO Worldwide, Doosan GridTech, Energy NewsData, Energy Northwest, K&L Gates, and Wells Fargo Insurance Services.
