Local Residents Tap the Energy of the Sun

Snohomish County Public Utility DistrictPUD: Tour Solar Homes & Businesses on Sept. 21

Everett, WA – Learn how PUD customers are generating electricity by tapping the energy from the sun during the annual Snohomish Solar Tour on Saturday, September 21, 2013. The self-guided tour will feature homes and businesses in communities throughout Snohomish County.  Arlington Energy Services and Fire Mountain Solar organized the tour, in conjunction with the American Solar Energy Society’s National Solar Tour.

“Many of the installations on the tour were supported with PUD incentives to help make the projects easier and more cost effective for our customers,” said PUD Energy Efficiency Program Manager Leslie Moynihan. “We’re committed to promoting renewable energy in the Pacific Northwest.”

The tour offers an opportunity to talk with homeowners using solar energy as well as industry professionals to get the answers to technical and non-technical questions in an informal setting. See the latest equipment on the market. Learn more about making an investment in solar energy.

There is no fee to visit the homes. You can pick-up tour maps and general information at the sponsoring organizations’ kickoff sites: OutBack Power from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (17825 – 59th Ave. NE, Arlington) or Silicon Energy from 10 a.m. to noon (3506 – 124th St. NW, Marysville).
