From groundbreaking research and academic programs, to exponential growth all over campus, to how our faculty and staff are re-imagining higher education, we are blazing trails in Idaho, the U.S. and throughout the world.

Boise State University is committed to fostering an environment where research and creative activity thrive. The Division of Research and Economic Development (DRED) leads this effort by providing comprehensive support for faculty during all phases of the research endeavor; managing the university’s intellectual property portfolio; facilitating relationships with industry for research and commercialization collaboration; and leading outreach aimed at fostering economic development in Boise and the region.

Housed in DRED, the CAES Energy Efficiency Research Institute (CEERI) promotes the effective and efficient use of energy resources through cutting-edge research, effective outreach and accessible education.  The goals of CEERI include: Developing energy efficiency concepts through research in applied technology and consumer behavior; Providing specialized education for energy efficiency technicians, engineers and architects; Evaluating existing energy-saving technologies; and Creating infrastructure for the accelerated transfer of ideas from the institute to the marketplace.
