LaserMotive set a world aviation record by using a laser to power an aircraft in continuous flight for 12 hours. The company was also named one of the Top 2010 Innovators by Seattle Business. The company has developed ‘laser power beaming,’ a method of transferring energy from an electrical power supply to a receiver using a laser beam instead of a wire. LaserMotive was a CleanTech Open semifinalist.
