Boeing announced the first commercial transatlantic flight powered by biofuel when a 747-8 freighter plane flew from DC to Paris. The 747-8 was powered by a blend of 15% camelina-based biofuel mixed with 85% traditional Jet-A fuel for the 5000 mile trip. No changes in the plane’s engines were required.
