What Does the Solyndra Scandal Mean for Cleantech?

Comment by Michelle Ranken, September 27, 2011

Solyndra, a  CA manufacturer of solar panels, filed for bankruptcy on September 1, 2011.  The company had secured a US government loan guarantee of $535 million.  Republicans suspect fraud and poor investment due diligence.  Democrats believe that business problems  are responsible and that government policy is sound.  No matter your personal opinion on the issue, the fact of the matter is that now many are skeptical of green jobs investments and the loan program, which will hurt cleantech in the long run.
