Microsoft Reaches Carbon Goal

Todd Bishop, GeekWire, April 17, 2012.
Microsoft has announced that it has achieved a goal of reducing its carbon emissions as a proportion of revenue.  The company says that there has been a 30 percent reduction over 2007 levels.

“I’m pleased to report that we’ve met this goal through a combination of energy efficiency measures and an investment in high-quality externally verified renewable energy and carbon reduction projects,” said Rob Bernard, chief environmental strategist, in a blog.

The company will be recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency for its commitment to renewable energy.
