SnoPUD Offers Deals on Efficient Lighting for Businesses

Snohomish County PUD  is offering rebates for exterior lighting for businesses customers.  Rebates are available for 17 types of efficient outdoor lights including for security lighting, parking lots, and streetlights. To receive an additional 15% rebate on exterior lighting, simply complete a qualifying lighting project by November 29, 2013.

Efficient lighting reduces energy bills and cuts costs on maintenance because the lights last longer.

The new rebates cover a variety of outdoor lighting applications. For example, switch a 400-watt parking lot light to an LED light (159 watts or less) and receive a $381 rebate if you qualify for the bonus. You’ll reduce the light’s energy use by more than half and reduce your bill.

The utility also provides rebates and custom lighting incentives for many other types of business projects. Businesses can save up to 30% on lighting costs by switching to thinner, lower-wattage T5 and T8 fluorescent tube lights. By changing out older incandescent lights to LEDs and compact fluorescent lights, businesses can save up to 90% on lighting costs.

“We’ve been very pleased with our new lighting and how much our electric bill has come down,” said Judy Matheson at J. Matheson Gifts, Kitchen & Gourmet.
