UW-Bothell Program Seeking Members for Advisory Board!

The newly formed undergraduate mechanical engineering program at University of Washington Bothell is seeking members to serve on its Industry Advisory Board (IAB), and is especially interested in securing representation from the state’s clean technology sector. Members should have at least five years of experience in mechanical engineering; management experience is also welcome.

The IAB is expected to advise the program about its educational objectives in the context of local industry requirements as part of our ongoing assessment efforts and requirements for accreditation by the Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology (ABET). Other issues on which advice may be sought include curriculum development, internship programs, mentoring of capstone projects, and trends in technology. The IAB will convene one or two times a year, and members should be available to provide advice by email. We also encourage interaction with the students, especially when they give their senior capstone presentations.

If interested, please send an email addressed to Professors John Bridge (JBridge@uwb.edu) and Steven Collins (swcollin@uw.edu). Prof. Collins can also be reached at (425) 352-5356.
