Canadian Consulate, WA Dept. of Commerce and Dow Sponsor the CleanTech Showcase

Cleantech Leaders across the Pacific Northwest Drive Support for Sector Innovation

CleanTech Alliance announced three new sponsors for the 2015 CleanTech Showcase. The Consulate General of Canada in Seattle, Washington State Department of Commerce and The Dow Chemical Company joined the University of Washington as supporting sponsors. The Boeing Company, Wells Fargo Insurance Services and Washington State University are principal sponsors.

The CleanTech Showcase agenda illustrates exactly why it is the leading one-day event to network, learn and invest in the latest cleantech innovations from companies and research institutions across the Pacific Northwest. Twenty-four companies will present to more than 300 executives, partners and investors in addition to keynotes from Dr. Cyrus Wadia, former White House policy advisor, and John Dearie, author of Where the Jobs Are. Panels, poster sessions and an interactive exhibit space will also highlight even more innovations covering clean technology, energy and environmental sustainability.

“Canada and the U.S. enjoy strong partnerships in the Pacific Northwest, especially surrounding clean and sustainable technologies,” said Cheryl Schell, Trade Commissioner for Sustainable Technologies at the Consulate General in Canada. “The CleanTech Showcase is an ideal opportunity for face-to-face interaction to fuel cross-border collaboration and trade. Several Canadian businesses will be featured as presenting companies and we’re expecting to assemble large attendee delegation as well.”

“Spurring clean technology development and deployment requires extensive industry and market support,” said Brian Young, Cleantech Sector Lead for the Washington State Department of Commerce. “The CleanTech Showcase acts as an innovation catalyst by bringing together major players and emerging startups from across the Pacific Northwest in a forum that encourages interaction and collaboration.”

“The 2014 CleanTech Showcase was a worthwhile event and a success for Dow,” said Steve Hahn, Research Fellow, Ventures and Business Development at Dow. “After attending last year, we knew that we needed to get more involved in 2015 as a sponsor.”

The CleanTech Showcase is June 22, 2015, at Bell Harbor International Conference Center in Seattle. Registration to attend is now open. Companies interested in sponsoring or exhibiting should contact Sharon Schierle at sharon@cleantechalliancewa.org or 206-389-8662.
