Craft3 Celebrates over 500 Septic System Replacements

Craft3 has repaired or replaced more than 500 failing septic systems with the Clean Water Loan! In 2003, Craft3 began offering loans to improve regional water quality and protect public health and property values.

With support from local and state government, as well as regional foundations and partner organizations, more than $11.4 million in Clean Water Loans have helped 508 property owners repair or replace their failing septic systems. Fifty percent of these loans have been to low-income homeowners. As a result, over 62 million gallons of waste water has been treated, contributing to the improvement of local shellfish harvest areas.

"Customer service is the cornerstone of the success of Acme Septic," explained Alita DeLaCruz, vice president of Acme Septic Design and Maintenance. "Having Craft3 as a viable option for customers in time of crisis has been a powerful tool that brings peace of mind and financial solutions."

The Clean Water Loan serves homeowners with a broad range of household incomes and credit histories. It includes funds to cover the ongoing inspections, maintenance and repairs that ensure that systems continue to work once installed.

Clean Water Loans strengthen resilience by helping property owners remain in their homes. Properly treated waste water reduces sources of contamination and disease in local waterways. By enabling borrowers to hire local septic professionals, the Clean Water Loan supports small businesses and creates jobs.
