Power-grid Experts Gather March 8-10

Hundreds of power and energy industry experts and visionaries will participate in the “Intelligence behind Smart Grids” conference March 8-10 at the historic Davenport Hotel in Spokane, Wash.

The conference combines the long-established Power and Energy Automation Conference with the recently created summit sponsored by the WSU Energy Systems Innovation Center. Participants will include engineers, technical staff, research and development personnel, utility managers, manufacturers and university faculty.

Conference chair Chen-Ching Liu has conducted power-grid research for industry and governments, including the power industry in the U.S., Europe and Asia, the National Science Foundation, Electric Power Research Institute, Science Foundation Ireland and European Commission. He is a Boeing Distinguished Professor at WSU, a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and an IEEE Third Millennium Medal winner.
