Washington State Clean Air Rule Hearings to Begin

In 2015, Governor Jay Inslee directed the Department of Ecology to develop a rule to cap and reduce greenhouse gases in Washington State under the Clean Air Act. The Clean Air Rule, which is now open for public review and comment, will address activities responsible for about two thirds of carbon pollution in Washington State, such as transportation, refining and manufacturing.

More information about the rule and instructions to submit formal comments can be found on the Department of Ecology website: Clean Air Rule. Hearing details are below.

If you intend to submit testimony at a webinar hearing, please note that the webinar provider does not support all options for mobile technology and using a laptop or desktop computer is recommended. You can submit comments in a variety of other ways. Instructions are available on the Department of Ecoloby website.
