The Sustainable Manufacturing Innovation Alliance was selected by the U.S. Department of Energy to lead its new Reducing Embodied-Energy And Decreasing Emissions (REMADE) Institute (https://remadeinstitute.org). The Institute comprises a national coalition of leading universities and companies which are to forge a new clean energy initiative deemed critical in keeping U.S. manufacturing competitive (targeting metals, polymers, E-waste and fibers). Idaho National Laboratory (INL) provides technical leadership for the Recycling and Recovery Node.
The Institute has just recently announced a Request for Proposal (RFP) to address certain knowledge gaps preventing greater material recycling, recovery, remanufacturing and reuse. RFP details and background information can be found on the Institute’s website. Additional information can be sought from INL’s Eric Peterson (eric.peterson@inl.gov), who sits on the technical leadership team.
