Inslee statement regarding climate threats detailed in newest federal Climate Assessment

“The scientific community has spoken clearly and unequivocally that climate change is a present and growing danger to our nation, our economy and our way of life. Our president is adding to that threat by refusing to confront reality and continuing to kowtow to special interests.

“The majority of Americans support climate action, and the majority of Americans will soon be represented by governors who are committed to combating climate change. Despite the White House’s reckless subservience to the fossil fuel industry, states are stepping up to show the world that we are still in – all in – on climate.

“Nations are rushing to be at the head of the pack in the global transition to a carbon-free future. Now is the time for us to unleash American innovation and investment in clean energy technology and defeat the scourge of climate change before it’s too late.”
