For many in the Puget Sound region, high housing costs have put home ownership out of reach, and with it, the benefits of rooftop solar.
With our partners at Homestead Community Land Trust, we are happy to announce the launch of Solarize the Land Trust. Through this innovative pilot project, Homestead’s moderate income homeowners will have an opportunity to participate in a group purchase with their land trust neighbors. The program will help simplify the solar installation process and bring down the overall cost of solar. Additionally, several Homestead homeowners will receive a grant that will offset much of the cost of installation.
Solarize the Land Trust is a replicable model for solar on affordable housing. At Spark Northwest, we believe everyone should have access to clean, renewable energy. We hope to see programs like this in communities across the Northwest region.
This program would not be possible without the generous support of All Points North Foundation. Thank you All Points North Foundation for supporting clean energy and environmental justice.
