Boeing Reports Improvements in Environmental Performance

Boeing generated improvements in environmental performance, the company reported in its annual Environment Report.  In 2010, Boeing consumed less energy, reduced carbon dioxide emissions and water intake, and generated less hazardous waste compared to the previous year.  Boeing facilities reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 28%, energy use by 30%, hazardous-waste generation by 44% and water intake by 41% since 2002, measured on a revenue-adjusted basis.  Boeing now invests more than 75% of its Commercial Airplanes R&D efforts on improving the environmental performance of jetliners.
