CO Gov. Hickenlooper signed a bill that will direct revenue to CO startups in cleantech and biotech. The first funds will be made available to startups starting in 2014 and continue for nine years. The law expires in 2024. The law is projected to divert $3.1M from the CO general fund in its first year. It’s hoped that diverting state income tax revenue to foster more startups will boost that job growth and ensure that the capital-intensive startups have funding at their earliest stages.
