Snohomish County PUD’s Planet Power program offers a way for customers to voluntarily support renewable energy projects in our communities. There’s an added benefit for new customers signing up for the program. You’ll receive a free solar flashlight and window decal for supporting renewable energy (while supplies last). Existing customers simply need to increase their subscription by $3/month to qualify.

More than 3,000 PUD customers now support local solar projects by participating in the utility’s Planet Power green energy program. The program is another example of how the PUD is working to develop and promote green energy sources throughout its service territory.

In the past two years, Planet Power has funded solar projects at eleven sites, including Mukilteo City Hall, Community Transit’s Mountlake Terrace Transit Center, Trinity Lutheran College and Skyview Elementary. Several schools have also benefitted from educational curriculum and informational solar kiosks. Additional projects are planned for this year.

Customers can enroll in Planet Power at any time. They can either opt to contribute $3 or more each month as part of their utility bill payment or make a one-time payment toward the program. Every dollar contributed goes directly to operate the program, educate the community and increase the level of energy that is produced from renewable sources.

Sign up for Planet Power by filling out the card in your bill, by calling 425-783-1700, or online at www.snopud.com/planetpower
