'Ultra-Green' Fremont Five-Story Building Planned

Source:  Puget Sound Business Journal, August 17, 2011.  Skanska USA and Suzie Burke, a major landowner in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood and owner of the Fremont Dock Co., plan to develop an ultra environmentally friendly office building at 3400 Stone Way in Fremont.  The proposed 120,000-square-foot, five-story office building will be designed to meet the City of Seattle’s new “living building” challenge.  To be included in the challenge, buildings must meet at least 60% of the city’s criteria for a living building.  Those criteria include being 75% more energy efficient, reducing water usage by 75% and reducing storm water by 50%.
