A San Francisco-based weather and climate forecasting firm, The Climate Corporation, said this morning that it has set up shop in Seattle, as part of a business expansion. The firm–which develops a cloud-based climate modeling service for the agriculture and weather insurance industry–said it is hoping to grow its engineering team in Seattle, with a number of open positions. The company specifically identified the talent base in Seattle in its move. The Climate Corporation is venture backed by Google Ventures and Khosla Ventures.
