In 2007, Bank of America announced a 5-year, $20 billion pledge towards the environment and its success has led to another commitment.  This new investment will span over 10 years and involve $50 billion primarily towards renewable energy, low-carbon transportation, energy efficient building, and water treatment and recycling.  BofA’s CEO says, “Environmental business delivers value to our clients and return for our shareholders, and helps strengthen the economy.”
