Capital: VC Investments Double in Washington

Venture capital investments during the second quarter more than doubled over the prior year in Washington.  In the second quarter of 2012, $312 million was invested in thirty-two companies according to a report by CB Insights.  In the prior year quarter, $132 million was invested.  Donuts, Kona Medical, Avalara, and SEOMoz were among the recipients.  Washington ranked behind California and Massachusetts, but ahead of Texas.

CB Insights called the $8.1 billion invested “the biggest quarter for venture capital in over a decade.”
