SnoPUD and Starbucks Test Program to Save Energy

WCTA Member Snohomish County PUD is preparing to test a new approach that will reduce retail energy utilization. With ten Starbucks stores, SnoPUD is creating a program to work with baristas to adjust work routines and reduce energy used.  The pilot project, funded in part by a grant from the Bonneville Power Administration, tests whether access to energy use data and competition between stores can improve conservation. Other partners in the project include WCTA member Puget Sound Energy and Lucid.
