The Department of Ecology knows that Washington companies and organizations are taking great steps to make our state a leader in sustainability, and want to recognize you for your hard work. The Safer Chemistry Champion Awards honor businesses, government agencies, nonprofits, and schools for significant efforts to make safer products, use less toxic chemicals, reduce hazardous waste, and adopt sustainable practices.
If your organization made any changes since January, 2013 that might qualify you for this award, please apply! 2014 award winners were recognized for manufacturing products with safer chemicals, implementing energy efficiency measures, reducing use of chemicals to clean and disinfect, and recycling toxic chemicals and waste water.
