Craft3 Leverages Clean Energy Fund for Zillah Oakes Inn

When Doug and Pam Lakman started planning Zillah Oakes Inn, a seven-room boutique hotel in the Yakima Valley, Pam was adamant they include solar panels. With almost 300 days of sunshine each year, it seemed like a missed opportunity not to try. Installation of 36 panels will produce about 90 percent of the energy needed.

Craft3 invests in entrepreneurs who consider the environment, as well as their pocket book, when making business decisions. That's why we provided a loan to Doug and Pam for their creative idea. Now Zillah Oakes Inn has not only newly-installed solar panels, but low-flow fixtures, low-flush toilets and energy-efficient ceiling fans. Their loan was supported in part by the Washington State Department of Commerce
