Lawmakers in Washington’s House of Representatives passed a bill off the floor on Tuesday that would create a clean-fuel standard in Washington State.
The bill requires the Department of Ecology to establish a Clean Fuels Program that limits greenhouse gas emissions per unit of transportation fuel energy. The program’s future limits for emissions: 10 percent below 2017 levels by 2028, and 20 percent below 2017 levels by 2035.
