Allan Tuan is the commercialization manager for Energy Storage, Chemical/Biological Processing, and Advanced Energy Systems technologies at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. He connects disruptive, PNNL-developed innovations with venture capital firms, small businesses, and multinational organizations to commercialize solutions for the nation’s complex energy and environmental challenges. Amongst others, his licenses have involved catalysts that help convert waste into usable fuel, unique tree-injection devices for delivering agricultural nutrients, nanoparticles for separating critical materials from geothermal brines, and electrolyte formulations for high-performing batteries.
Allan earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington; his MBA from Washington State University; and his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from UCLA.
