Featuring Washington-based cleantech companies Hydrovolts, B&G Machine, Greenwood Clean Energy, Enertechnix, and Demand Energy, the state Department of Commerce is leading a group to the “colossal” Hannover Messe–a 1,300 acre business fair featuring 300,000 attendees and 16,500 exhibits.  The fair takes place from April 23–27 and is the largest industrial technology trade show in the world.

Four of the five companies have received assistance from the  State Trade and Export Promotion (STEP) grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration.  Funds from the grant provide qualifying companies with export vouchers up to $5,000 with a 25% company match to help pay for expenses such airfare, trade show admission, translation services and other export-related services.  The STEP grant program is managed by the Washington State Department of Commerce.
