Schweitzer and Los Angeles Utility Sign $71.5 M Multiyear Contract

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories has announced the signing of a multi-year substation automation contract valued at $71.5 million with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.  Schweitzer will supply project management, engineering services, software, and hardware to enhance the performance of the electric power grid owned by the utility.“This automation project is about gathering system data, converting them into actionable information, and making the information available to enterprise systems and operators in the most secure and efficient ways possible,” says Schweitzer project manager Herbert Cheung. The project will span up to seven years.
