Seattle Business Magazine Recognizes Leaders In Sustainability
At The 2013 Green Washington Awards
SEATTLE (October 30, 2013) – Seattle Business magazine honored Washington state’s most sustainably oriented organizations at the Green Washington Awards Tuesday evening at the Washington State Convention Center. In addition to identifying a Washington Green 50 list of outstanding organizations, the magazine recognized winners in 12 categories drawn from across the state and from virtually every sector of the economy.
Winners were selected from a large pool of nominations by a panel of judges from prominent organizations in the region, including the Washington Environmental Council, Climate Solutions, the Bainbridge Graduate Institute and the Washington Clean Technology Alliance. The event received the generous support of presenting sponsor MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions.
Prior to the awards ceremony, an executive forum led by moderator Marc Daudon, founder of Cascadia Consulting Group, explored issues centering on sustainability as a corporate strategy. Discussion panelists were Jacqueline Drumheller of Alaska Airlines, Gina Klem of Starbucks, Rob Bernard of Microsoft, and Perry England of MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions.
“We are pleased to see so many companies introducing innovative technologies, policies and processes that make our economy more environmentally sustainable,” said Leslie Helm, editor of Seattle Business. “Our goal is to encourage those efforts by recognizing the best organizations and holding them up as models for others to follow.”
