Giant Battery System Could Help Light Up Homes in Snohomish County

Matt Markovich at KOMO News spotlights the Snohomish County PUD energy storage project funded by the Clean Energy Fund. From the article:

If the power goes out, the Snohomish County Public Utility District just needs to flip on its big battery. At PUD's Hardenson Substation in South Everett, there are two 50-foot containers you won't find anywhere else.

The project was made possible in part by a $7.3 million investment from the Washington State Clean Energy Fund; and an additional $1 million from the Clean Energy Fund for a partnership with the Bonneville Power Administration and the University of Washington to optimize the use of energy storage and demand response.
